Zara Larsson is looking back on a rough performance from early in her career
The "Midnight Sun" singer recalled crowd members throwing grapes at her while she was singing

Zara Larsson's career has come a long way.
In a TikTok video posted on Wednesday, March 4, the "Midnight Sun" singer, 28, recalled a rough performance from early in her career where crowd members threw grapes at her while she was singing.
The video opened with a fan's clip of Larsson performing her hit "Lush Life" at a radio station event that appears to have taken place about a decade ago, when the song was first released. "You know what’s so funny? The fact that you have footage from this day is iconic to me because I will never forget this performance," she said, stitching the original post with a selfie video.
"I remember it so well because this is the day where the kids in the back were… Listen, I’ve been on every stage," explained Larsson. "I have been outside of an IKEA parking lot, five people in the crowd, every mall, schools, high schools, elementary schools, colleges. Like, if there was a stage and an opportunity to perform, hey, it’s what I do, you know?"
"But this day, these f---ing kids in the back," continued the Swedish pop star through laughter. "They were throwing grapes at me, and it felt so medieval. It felt like ducking tomatoes up there on this tiny stage with the radio station that I was there with."

Larsson then started singing her 2016 hit "Never Forget You" and pretending to dodge grapes. "Like, no, that’s crazy," she said. "Thanks for supporting though, queen. Look at us now."
These days, the "Hot & Sexy" performer has no problem filling venues with dedicated fans. She's currently on the sold-out U.S. leg of her Midnight Sun Tour, which continues through April 12 in Houston.
At the moment, Larsson has three songs charting on the Billboard Hot 100: "Lush Life," "Midnight Sun" and "Stateside" with PinkPantheress. The latter hit is also No. 1 on the Global Spotify chart. "You’re listening to the #1 song in the world right now," she wrote on Instagram earlier this week. "@pinkpantheress thank you for having me on your already perfect song, wiiii!!!"
In a December interview with PEOPLE, Larsson sang PinkPantheress' praises. "I love her. I think she's so cute and very, very, very talented. She's unapologetically herself, which I love, and she's doing things her own way," she said of the "Illegal" artist, 24, at the time. "She's also very smart and funny."
