New episodes will debut weekly on Tuesdays
After a weeks-long break, NCIS is finally back in action.
Season 23 of the hit CBS procedural originally premiered on Oct. 14, 2025, and had been expected to resume new episodes on Feb. 24 after the winter break. But because President Donald Trump’s 2026 State of the Union address aired that night, CBS pushed the show’s return back one week, per TV Insider.
NCIS follows a team of elite agents with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service as they take on complex cases tied to the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps — from espionage and terrorism to murder and cybercrime. At the center is Supervisory Special Agent Alden Parker (Gary Cole), who leads the Major Case Response Team.
He’s joined by Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen), forensic scientist Kasie Hines (Diona Reasonover), Special Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) and Special Agent Nicholas “Nick” Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), among others.

NCIS season 23 premiered on Oct. 14, 2025 — and according to Valderrama, fans were in for a visual shake-up.
Speaking to Parade that month, the actor teased that the long-running procedural would “look a little different” this time around.

"We’re going to try something different with the cinematic feeling of the show," he shared. "Origins has been doing it, but NCIS is a nostalgic look always, you know? So, we’re going to play with extra cameras, we’re going to cover the scenes a little bit crazier now, so we’re having a lot of fun with this new vibe and this new energy on set.”

NCIS returned for season 23 on Oct. 14, 2025, airing nine episodes before heading into its midseason hiatus.
The CBS procedural is set to resume on March 3, with new episodes rolling out weekly on Tuesdays. A season finale date has yet to be announced.
